A 30 per cent spike in sales of the kitchen essential at the retailer.Trends were particularly evident in fashion: in March when the BBC aired The Serpent, a drama series about a serial killer on the hippy trail in Thailand in the Seventies starring Jenna Coleman, sales of flared jeans at John Lewis were seven times higher than the previous month and those of aviator sunglasses increased by 182 per cent.
