Actor Sean Penn has told fans that he 'walked miles' to the Polish border after being caught up in the Ukraine invasion. Russia's invasion is now in its sixth day but Russian forces have made "little progress" in their advance on capital Kyiv over the past 24 hours, according to the latest update from the Ministry of Defence (MoD).
Deputy Prime Minister Dominic Raab, however, has warned that Russian President Vladimir Putin could respond to resistance in Ukraine with "even more barbaric tactics".
Penn revealed his situation in a tweet posted on Monday evening (February 28). "Myself & two colleagues walked miles to the Polish border after abandoning our car on the side of the road," Penn wrote, clearly showing the queues of traffic. "Almost all the cars in this photo carry women & children only, most without any sign of luggage, and a car their only possession of value." The tweet quickly garnered widespread attention.
It is believed that is working on a documentary about the Russian invasion of Ukraine. On Friday pictures were released of Penn, 61, at a press briefing at the Presidential Office in Kyiv.
