The scorching heatwave in Britain will peak today, with temperatures rising to 37C for some. After Thursday saw highs of around 28C, the hot air from Africa's Sahara Desert will bring even hotter weather for London and the south east later.
Met Office forecaster Aidan McGivern said: “If everything comes together, there's a possibility we will see 37C or 38C. 36C is most likely. “Truly exceptional heat will arrive during Friday as southerly winds waft our way. “There's a cooling trend over the weekend, with a thundery breakdown in the middle of next week.” “It's deja phew.
