Amanda Staveley's first acquisition with Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund is close to completion. A £300m agreement for Newcastle United has been reached this week, which looks set to end Mike Ashley's 13-year reign.
Talk of a Tyneside takeover has been brewing for a number of years, with fans expecting a buyout from the BZG Group in Dubai last summer.
Staveley has been the financier involved in previous bids for Newcastle. And her attempts to purchase the Magpies took a big step forward last October aboard the megayacht of Saudi Arabia’s crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman.
