Belstaff and daily bike commuter – is most certainly not.‘Oh, I’m not your typical fashion person,’ she says, despite looking decidedly sleek on the day we meet in a black top, loose trousers and box-fresh trainers. ‘Joining Belstaff was something completely new for me, but I figured I ran a cycling squad without ever coaching the athletes, so I can head up a fashion brand without knowing how to make a jumper.’While she may not be a dab hand with the sketching pad – that’s creative director Sean Lehnhardt-Moore’s job – Millar, 42, is clearly a formidable businesswoman.
She took on the role of CEO last year after a decade as head of business operations for Team Ineos, formerly Team Sky, Britain’s best-known professional cycling squad.
