For all the latest news from in and around Bolton, sign up for the free MyBolton newsletter The Beehive pub and carvery in Horwich will not re-open today — due to torrential rain over the weekend leaving much of the premises flooded.
Wet weather on Sunday (May 16) meant that much of the area around the pub — including the Beehive roundabout — was submerged under floodwater.
The flooding was so extreme that cars had to be towed away from the roundabout having become stuck by the emergency services.
The conditions have also taken their toll on the pub which gives the roundabout its name, meaning it cannot open on the first day that indoor hospitality is permitted under the Government’s lockdown easing.
