A dad-of-two has died after contracting the coronavirus aged just 45. Craig Ruston, from Northamptonshire, was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in 2018, and had posted regular updates of his battle with the disease on his Facebook page 'Me and my MND'.
But last night his devastated wife Sally broke the news that he passed away on Monday morning. She said Craig's 'fight with MND was not ready to be over', but last Tuesday he was taken unwell with a chest infection that was later confirmed to be Covid-19.
The couple had to spend his last six days in isolation and tragically, it means Craig's wish that his brain could be donated to MND research cannot happen. "My amazing Craig passed away yesterday morning at 6.20am.
