A hero granddad who pulled a six-year-old boy from the water after he was swept out to sea has described the horrifying ordeal.
Sam McKeeder sprang into action when he realised the child was in danger during a day out on a beach in North Wales. When he reached the boy - who was airlifted to hospital - he was unconscious with his face down in the water.
Emergency services were called to Black Rock Sands shortly after 2.30pm, North Wales Live reports. Mr McKeeder, 57, said: “I was on the beach with my three grandchildren and daughter.
