Prince Harry and Megan Markle's daughter Lilibet looks set to spend her first birthday with her great-grandmother and namesake the Queen during the monarch's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.Baby Lilibet's first birthday falls in the middle of the Queen's festive bank holiday, on Saturday, June 4, when street parties and revelry in honour of the monarch's 70-year reign will be going strong up and down the UK.The Duke and Duchess' second child was born in America and is yet to visit the UK or meet her royal relatives, including her great-grandmother whom she was named after.
Lilibet is the Queen's childhood nickname, given to her as a child because she had trouble pronouncing Elizabeth. The Telegraph reports the Queen, 96, was due to attend the Epsom Derby on the Saturday, however has had to cut down her Jubilee schedule due to health concerns, and so the Princess Royal will attend in place instead.
This schedule change frees the Queen up for potentially meeting her great-granddaughter on her birthday.Lilibet will travel to the UK with her parents and her three-year-old brother Archie, and it is the first time the Duke and Duchess have returned to the UK with their children since stepping down as working royals in 2020 and relocating to north America.
While the visit is set to be a family trip, royal commentator Neil Sean has cast speculation over whether or not Meghan Markle will attend after her visit to the Robb Elementary School shooting memorial in Texas was widely slammed by critics as a publicity stunt, the Daily Star reported.
