Plans for an extension to Hale Country Club and Spa have been approved. Trafford council’s planning committee discussed the plans and all members were in favour of granting permission, as recommended by council officers, for the plans.

The proposals from The Hut Group include an expansion of the club’s car park, a brand new extension to the ground floor of the building, re-cladding the whole of the outside of the site and a refurbishment for the south terrace. The whole site is also set for landscaping. Plans for a new all weather pitch and football pitch to the north of the site were set to be included in the revamp, but these have since been withdrawn, following objections from nearby residents.

A number of nearby residents wrote to the council to object to the new pitch plans – with their concerns surround the increased traffic the larger site could attract, the associated noise and light pollution and reduced water pressure to nearby homes.
