GTA 6 fan uproar as Rockstar reportedly removes Russian characters from upcoming game

GTA 6, is rumoured to be undergoing major script changes in response to Russia's war in Ukraine.According to GTA 6 News and Leaks, a Rockstar Games insider claims that "a prominent Russian character has been removed from GTA VI due to the Ukraine invasion".The character in question was supposed to "have ties to the Russian government" and be a billionaire, as well as resemble a character from John Wick.

Other Russian characters and references to Russia have also reportedly been cut from the game, as Rockstar follows the example of other companies that have removed Russian references from their products.

Fans of Rockstar's multi-billion pound franchise are fuming, and have taken to Twitter to criticise the unconfirmed rumour.One user said: "Rockstar has changed for the worst it's sad it was a great company."If true, it could mark a major departure from previous instalments in the series, which are known for their no-holds-barred approach to controversial and adult content.GTA IV, a previous instalment in the series, featured a prominent Russian character in the form of antagonist Vlad Glebov.In February, Rockstar Games finally confirmed that GTA 6 is under development.
