Gritter 'stranded with lorries' on major Scots road as snow blasts country

A gritter appeared to be 'stranded' alongside a number of HGVs on the busy A9 as snow blasted parts of Scotland. Forecasters warned snow and 'Arctic air' would hit Scotland this week after the country enjoyed mild conditions over the New Year.

The Met Office issued three yellow weather warnings for snow, ice and wind beginning on Monday afternoon. The A9 has been hit with some of the worst weather as drivers faced blizzard conditions on the busy road.One driver revealed traffic was at a 'standstill' at around 2pm on Tuesday as they told others to 'avoid the A9 southbound'.Inverness South councillor Andrew Jarvie also took to social media to warn locals of the disruption as the snow wreaked havoc with the travel network.He confirmed cops
