Arsenal star Granit Xhaka has confirmed he rejected a chance to head back to Germany in January - despite feeling “more isolated” in England.
Xhaka was a firm favourite at Borussia Monchengladbach before ditching the Bundesliga for the Premier League. His frustrations in north London came to a head as he clashed with fans when substituted against Crystal Palace earlier this season leading to him being stripped of the club captaincy.
With his days at with the Gunners appearing to be numbered, the Swiss midfielder was offered a chance to join Hertha Berlin in January but decided to stay put.
