The killer of British backpacker Grace Millane is appealing his murder conviction and sentence in New Zealand. The 28-year-old, who still has name suppression, has reportedly entered a notice of appeal after being sentenced to life in prison.

Gracewas strangled to death the day before her 22nd birthday after going on a Tinder date with the man in Auckland in December 2018.

At his trial last year the man denied murder and tried to claim the young Essex backpacker's death was an accident after the pair had 'rough sex' at his apartment.

However the prosecution said he had strangled 21-year-old Grace for between five to ten minutes, before taking intimate photographs, and watching hardcore pornography before trying to cover up his crime.
