The force described the incident as 'regrettable' and say the protester involved has received an apology from a senior officer.
They have also reviewed body cam footage but, after launching an 'urgent review', say 'no misconduct' was identified. Police made the arrest during a 'Kill the Bill' demonstration in the city centre on Saturday (March 27).
The woman was one of eighteen people arrested after hundreds of campaigners gathered to protest against a new government policing bill.
