Good Morning Britain anchor Ben Shephard urged Dan Walker to destroy his alarm clock on Twitter. The ITV presenter admitted he would be "jealous" of fellow broadcaster Dan if he saw the BBC star annihilate his alarm clock in front of the world. It comes after Dan announced he was quitting BBC Breakfast after 6 years on the flagship programme and 13 years on the channel as a whole.Instead, Dan is set to become the lead anchor on Channel 5's bulletin 5 News programme in an expanded role which will also see him front non-news shows across the channel.Dan has been inundated with supportive messages from his BBC colleagues and friends in the industry - including his Breakfast co-host Sally Nugent. However, Ben had a cheeky request for Dan upon hearing the news that he was leaving the BBC.Taking to Twitter, he replied to Dan's announcement post and asked the former Strictly star to perform a "ceremonial destruction" of his alarm clock. It's because Dan and his Breakfast colleagues have to set their alarms for the shockingly-early time of 3am to prepare for their broadcasts in Salford's MediaCity. He wrote: "I'm hoping there will be a ceremonial destruction of the alarm clock on socials that we can all enjoy ……and be jealous of!!"Alongside a series of laughing-face emojis he added: "Enjoy the lie-ins and good luck with the new challenge!"Golf-lover Dan seemed to enjoy the request, because he replied to the post in similarly jovial fashion.Telling Ben that he would destroy the alarm clock with one of his golf clubs, he wrote: "Going to attack it with a 7 iron."Dan's former co-host Louise Minchin also joked about Dan's morning routine with an alarm clock-quip of her own.She told Dan: "Massive congratulations and good luck Dan.
