Music fans up and down the country were left gutted this morning when it was announced that Glastonbury Festival 2020 has been cancelled.
Festival organisers Micheal and Emily Evis made the tough call following the Government's latest advice on tackling the coronavirus pandemic in the UK - which included the stoppage of ‘mass gatherings’.
Both Emily and Michael said in their statement that “in times of such unprecedented uncertainty” the postponement of the festival’s 50th anniversary celebrations was “now our only viable option." Glastonbury Festival, which was due to take place at Worthy Farm from June 24 to 28, will now take an "enforced fallow year", and return in 2021.
