Glasgow is the nightmare capital of the UK, according to a new study. Hybrid mattress brand OTTY analysed the top sleep issues that people in the UK have been experiencing from 2004 to 2021.
It found that Google searches for ‘nightmares’ in Glasgow soared by 146% over the past seven years. Issues with ‘sleep apnea’ also saw a huge increase in Glaswegians taking to Google, with searches skyrocketing by 418%.
Experts say that issues in getting to sleep can amplify mental health problems, such as anxiety and depression. It is believed the number of Scots with a deteriorating sleep pattern has grown due to the coronavirus pandemic.
