Gerwyn Price is a man of many talents. Before turning to darts, the Welshman was a professional rugby player and, until recently, he was due to take part in a charity boxing match.
He also claims to be a dab hand at snooker and even has even compiled a maximum break, albeit on a smaller table. Speaking after winning the world darts title in 2021, Price told Daily Star Sport about his passion for the sport. “I’ve had a 147, but with 10 balls… a 107 maximum with 10 reds!
Get me up against Ronnie!” he said, adding: “I’m not into golf or cricket or anything like that, but if it's a sport I enjoy I tend to be quite good at it because I'll put the time in.
You never know, I might pick up a golf club and I might be on the PGA Tour!” A showdown on the baize between Price and Ronnie O’Sullivan, a big darts fan, would certainly attract plenty of attention.
