The Minneapolis Police Department on Thursday released body camera footage of the shooting death of Dolal Idd, the first police killing since George Floyd died during an encounter with officers in May.  Idd's father, Bayle Gelle, of Eden Prairie, identified his 23-year-old son as the man shot Wednesday evening at a gas station during a traffic stop for a felony warrant, the Star Tribune reported.  Police Chief Medaria Arradondo said witnesses reported the Idd fired first.

Protests erupted in Minneapolis on Wednesday night after police shot and killed a man during a traffic stop on the city's south side, authorities said. According to Minneapolis police, the exchange of gunfire occurred after officers pulled over the man suspected of a felony at a gas station around 6:15 p.m.The driver, who was not immediately identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
