Gary Neville insisted he was "not surprised" at BT Sport's lack of coverage of the mass chaos outside the Stade de France ahead of the Champions League final.Thousands of Liverpool fans were stuck outside the ground ahead of kick-off in concerning scenes, with police using tear gas on some sections of the crowds.

But BT, who have exclusive rights to European football in the UK, didn't show any footage, instead remaining with their team inside the stadium while the match was delayed for more than half an hour. The Athletic journalist Adam Crafton tweeted: "Surprised BT sport don’t have a team on standby outside of stadium, getting little to no sense of the major story from the broadcaster."Sky Sports pundit Neville replied: "Are you surprised?

I’m not. They can’t react or aren’t agile to things like this happening."Neville then retweeted a post from a fan which read: "Fair to say BT Sport and their lightweight team are totally unsuited to covering an event like this still chatting football 5 Live covering what is happening properly."Chief Manchester United writer for the MEN, Samuel Luckhurst, also criticised the coverage, with Neville retweeting his comment too.
