Gareth Bale decided not to take part in Real Madrid's title celebrations today claiming that a back spasm meant he had to play things safe and sit it out.Los Blancos wrapped up their 35th La Liga triumph with a 4-0 win over Espanyol at the Santiago Bernabeu, with goals from Karim Benzema, Rodrygo and Marco Asensio sealing the three points.

Players and staff soaked it all in after the game amid jubilant on-field celebrations, but Bale - who has featured just seven times all season for Carlo Ancelotti's side - was no where to be seen. The 32-year-old later posted a photo of the festivities, along with the caption: "So disappointed that I’m not able to be part of the celebrations this evening due to a bad back spasm but really proud of the team for winning the title!

Enjoy tonight boys!"Despite playing a central role in one of Real Madrid's most successful ever periods - winning 15 major trophies and scoring the winning goal in two Champions League finals - Bale's relationship with the Madridistas has been non-existent for some time. The Welshman hasn't been a permanent fixture in the side for three years and looks set to end his nine-year association with the club this summer with his contract weeks from expiring.

His agent Jonathon Barnett said: "Bale deserves a grand farewell from the club. And no, we have not yet decided on the future."Where will Gareth Bale be playing football next season?
