Frankie Boyle has joked he "bought fireworks" in case Boris Johnson died of coronavirus. The controversial comedian has sparked outrage by laughing about planning a celebration if the prime minister had lost his battle with Covid-19.
Boyle tweeted: " Boris Johnson said contingency plans were made for his death. That’s true - I’d bought fireworks." The funnyman referenced Johnson's recent remarks in which the Tory leader revealed contingency plans had been put in place to keep the government running in case he didn't pull through.
The PM spent three nights in intensive care during his battle with coronavirus, but has since gone on to make a full recovery.
