Everton's managerial search has taken a fresh twist with Frank Lampard reportedly being offered a second interview for the role - just 24 hours after it had seemed that Vitor Pereira was on the brink of being appointed.The Toffees are on the hunt for a new boss after Rafa Benitez was finally put out of his misery earlier this month.Benitez's disastrous reign has left Everton slumped in the bottom half of the Premier League and perilously close to the relegation zone.Fans had been left furious after reports on Wednesday had indicated that Pereira was majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri’s preferred choice to replace the former Liverpool chief.Furious fans reacted by protesting and spraying graffiti at Goodison Park - urging the club to shun Pereira in favour of ex-Chelsea boss Lampard.

And there's a chance they could still get their wish, with The Telegraph reporting that Lampard is set for a second interview on Thursday.

The 43-year-old has been out of work for over a year since he was axed by his beloved Blues after just 18 months in charge.Lampard has held talks with Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and Norwich over the past few months but a return to management hasn't materialised.He will, though, get another chance to impress the Everton hierarchy after his initial talks with the club took place last week.Would Lampard be a good appointment for Everton?
