For months now our bills have only been going one way and that's up. If there's one place we notice it more it's at the supermarket and our weekly price comparison has been keeping track of the cost of basics like milk and bread since March.
We've seen prices rocket, we've seen the yo-yo effect of Aldi Price Match and for a short time it seemed prices were finally settling when we had little change at all. Only Morrisons stayed the same, but as it's still the most expensive of all, at £12.02, there's little reason to celebrate. Four of the six supermarkets have this week hiked the price of butter again.
We're not talking a couple of pence either. At Sainsbury's, Tesco and Aldi, it's gone from £1.75 to £1.99, while at Asda it's gone from £1.75 to £2.
