Epic Games has announced it will release a new update for all PS4, Xbox One, PC, iOS, Android and Nintendo Switch players on May 7, 2020.

The new update for the game will bring Fortnite up to version 12.51. Typically when it comes to Fortnite updates, anything that doesn't bring the game up to a whole number (such as 12.40, 12.50 or 12.60) is typically considers a 'smaller' update to the game.

With these sorts of updates it's less likely we'll see a wealth of new content or any major changes to the game, such as map changes.

However, in a somewhat surprising turn of events, the update still requires server maintenance. The downtime for the game was confirmed by Epic Games official Fortnite Status twitter account.
