Stephen King has revealed his favourite horror movie of all time in a new essay.Writing for Variety, the author gave two honourable mentions before naming, what he believes to be, the scariest movie ever made.“I thought deeply about this question, perhaps more deeply than the subject — my scariest horror movie — deserves… but then, I’ve seen a lot of horror movies, so maybe it’s a valid Q,” he began the essay.“My conclusion is that the ‘scariest’ varies according to the viewer’s age. As a kid of 16, the scariest movie was The Haunting (directed by Robert Wise).

Blair Witch horror franchise is reportedly in the works.It has been announced by Lionsgate film chair Adam Fogelson and Jason Blum of horror production studio Blumhouse that another instalment of the cult classic horror movie series is underway.Beginning with the hugely successful 1999 film The Blair Witch Project, the franchise has already seen two sequels – one in 2000 and a second in 2016. There’s a revival of The Blair Witch Project in the works!

Following their collaboration on horror pic Imaginary, Lionsgate and Blumhouse are partnering again, this time to develop and produce a brand new take on The Blair Witch Project. This will be the first film in a multi-picture pact with Blumhouse reimagining horror classics from the Lionsgate library. The announcement was made by Adam Fogelson, chair, Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, and Jason Blum, founder and CEO of Blumhouse during Lionsgate’s CinemaCon presentation this morning.

Naman Ramachandran Prolific genre producer Steven Schneider of Room 101, Inc. and Spooky Pictures, is teaming with Malkier Studios on a slate of horror films. Schneider’s credits include “Paranormal Activity,” “Blair Witch,” and M. Night Shyamalan’s “Old.” Producing alongside Schneider will be D.C. Cassidy, Michael Fisk and Julia Wang Zhu under the newly formed Malkier Studios production company that will focus on creating IP driven horror, animation and thriller content. First up under the collaboration is “Janus,” written by Nate Atkins (“Blood-Red Ox”) and Jason Zada (“The Forest,” “Take this Lollipop”) with Zada also directing. It will follow three band members seeking refuge in an old farmhouse where they encounter a woman harboring an unspeakable secret. Schneider and Joe Heath will produce alongside Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash, who will bring his musical expertise and oversight to the film. The cast includes Alex Neustaedter (“American Rust”), Natalie Alyn Lind (“Big Sky”), Jack Kilmer (“Lords of Chaos”) and Grace Van Dien (“Stranger Things”), along with M.C. Gainey (“Emperor”). Filming will commence later this year in Puerto Rico.
