Coronavirus patients in Greater Manchester are the first to be treated with ventilation kit made by a Formula 1 team. Six patients at Fairfield General Hospital in Bury became the first in the UK to trial new ventilation methods to help treat COVID-19 - including a machine manufactured by F1 engine manufacturer, Mercedes-AMG.
Fairfield General was the first hospital to open the coronavirus Recovery-RS trial, which is testing ventilation machines made by industry that could be crucial in helping people overcome the disease.
