Klaudia Cierpial wants more scans offered to expectant mothers after her baby’s umbilical cord became hypercoiled and was too short.
The Scottish 18-year-old told The Daily Record : “I had eight weeks to save my baby but nothing was done.” Her baby was healthy at her 20-week scan but six weeks later she began to suffer painful stomach cramps.
Medics at Wishaw General checked for her baby’s heartbeat and advised her the pregnancy was going well, but did not do a scan of her stomach, claims Klaudia.
