Spurs' win at Fulham on Thursday night. Fulham star Mario Lemina was adjudged to have handled the ball in the lead up to Josh Maja's equalising goal - which was ruled out.Under the new handball rule, whereby accidental handball will not be penalised, Lemina's goal would have been allowed to stand.A statement on IFAB's official website read: "Accidental handball that leads to a team-mate scoring a goal or having a goal-scoring opportunity will no longer be considered an offence." This rule will come into force with immediate effect.
Football's rule makers also confirmed that concussion substitutes would continue into 2022. Under current guidance, clubs are permitted to replace a player who has concussion with an additional concussion.
