Fishing vessel captain devoured by fish after jumping overboard to avoid axe attacker

He is suspected of trying to kill his 68-year-old captain in the municipality of Borba in 2019.The victim's body was found in September last year in the municipality's river after being ravaged by fish. He grabbed an axe and attempted to kill his captain while they were still on the boat.Antony said: "Due to a fight, João would have run after the victim with an axe and in an attempt to defend himself, to avoid being hit, he threw himself into the water. "And from then on he was no longer located at the time, he was only found days later already consumed by the fish." The police chief explained that the cause of the deadly argument remains unknown, but that João confessed to trying to murder his captain.A court order was issued and he was promptly arrested this week.
