The first Scottish victim of coronavirus to be named was a “happy and smiling” dad with no underlying health issues. Danny Cairns, 68, from Greenock, is understood to have died this morning at Inverclyde Royal Hospital.
The popular grandfather and dad to three sons was well known locally and started Wemyss Bay Bible Club, where he used to live, with his wife Eunice, 63.He was also a football coach with Wemyss Bay Colts and with the primary school team in Inverclyde.It’s understood he was taken to hospital on Monday and never recovered from Covid-19, despite not having any other known health problems.Tributes have been paid to Mr Cairns on a Greenock community page.His former minister, Rev Michael Schrimshire and his wife Christine, said
