An electrical problem has been identified as the cause of smoke which prompted the evacuation of Blackpool Tower earlier today.
Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service was called at around 10.20am this morning (December 12), when an alarm went off inside the landmark.
Six fire engines were scrambled to the scene and crews saw smoke inside the 158-metre tall seafront attraction, prompting a full evacuation.
