The majority of football fans have backed a circuit-breaker pause to the season amid a raft of Covid-related postponements that have seen Manchester United go without a match since December 11.
United have faced a Covid outbreak among their playing squad, forcing their last two games to be postponed. Whilst Man City have been largely unaffected by Covid this season, there is a growing belief that the current fixture schedule is unsustainable due to how many positive tests there have been across the Premier League.
Just four Premier League games took place at the weekend, with the remaining six matches being postponed due to clubs reporting positive Covid cases.
