Ralf Rangnick is looking to make his mark on Manchester United and the January transfer window is around the corner. Although any incomings at United will be unlikely without the club completing sales, reports emerged last week claiming that Bayer Leverkusen's Florian Wirtz - who is said to be valued at around £60M - is Rangnick's number one transfer target.
The Manchester Evening News understands United's priority is signing a midfielder that can protect the defence - Wirtz is an attacking midfielder and he wouldn't exactly fit that billing, which adds a degree of intrigue to the fresh reports.
