Excited Golden Retriever breaks every bone in owner's leg - so she misses dream holiday

Watch live feedAnd she and her husband David have been forced to cancel a holiday to Barbados while her leg heals.She said: “Peggy is such a well trained dog, but being just under two years old she is quite playful.“As soon as she saw the other dog she tried to run over and I managed to pull her back.“But as I turned to walk the opposite way she pulled me again and my body turned but my feet stayed.“I didn’t fall down straight away, but when I saw my foot I fell to the ground and screamed for someone to help me.“When I got to hospital they told me they didn’t realise the severity of the break and that it was actually limb-threatening and I went straight into surgery to put my foot straight.“When I woke up I was told I was reacting to the pain during the surgery and had stopped breathing twice, so I was then transferred to a different hospital for second surgery where they put plates in my ankles.”Despite a short period in the dog- house, sorry Peggy now spends every day snuggled up to her injured owner licking her wounds.Jill, of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, added: “Peggy clearly feels very guilty, everyone who comes to visit me says she’s got big guilty eyes all the time.“She’s glued to.
