Erling Haaland is reportedly set to ask for a release clause to be included in his contract if he signs for Manchester City this summer. The Premier League champions are leading the race to sign the highly-rated Norwegian striker at the end of the season.

Haaland is regarded as one of Europe’s greatest goal-scorers already, despite being just 21-years-old.And while his extremely rare talent has seen the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain show interest, City appear to be closest to reaching an agreement with the player.

But it seems Haaland still wants to keep his options open in the future, according to The Sun, despite a move to the Etihad being his preference next.According to The Daily Mail, sources in Germany claim Haaland has discussed personal terms with the Premier League leaders, meaning the framework for the transfer is “ready to be signed off”.He is expected to leave Dortmund for a relatively paltry fee of £64million due to a release clause in his current contract.

His agent Mino Raiola is expected to request a similar clause if his move to City goes ahead this summer.Do you think Erling Haaland will join a La Liga club in the future?
