Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag could be tempted to give former West Ham flop Sebastian Haller another shot in the Premier League, according to the latest reports. The Ivorian, 27, endured a miserable two-year period at the London Stadium, bagging just 10 goals in 48 top-flight appearances after being purchased for a club-record fee.

Then-manager Manuel Pellegrini forked out £45m to bring Haller to east London in 2019 but his disappointing record in front of goal saw him flogged to Ajax midway through last season. The 6ft 3 forward, though, has lit up the Eredivisie since reuniting with ex-Utrecht boss Ten Hag in Amsterdam, netting 31 times in just 18 months.

Now the pair could be set to link up at their third different club. The Sun report Ten Hag is weighing up a move for Haller, who is seen as a cheaper option to England captain Harry Kane.

The Red Devils are keen to bolster their frontline after heavily relying on star man Cristiano Ronaldo. Kane is earmarked at £100m by Tottenham and the United hierarchy are hesitant to enter negotiations with their top-four rivals following Manchester City's drawn-out discussions last summer.
