Cristiano Ronaldo has dismissed reports he told TV cameras "I'm not finished" after Manchester United's 3-0 win over Brentford.

Ronaldo appeared to utter the three-word phrase as he made his way towards the tunnel following United's easy victory on Monday night.

Some fans believed it was a hint that he may remain at the club next season amid reports linking him away from the Red Devils following the arrival of new boss Erik ten Hag.But Ronaldo rubbished claims he said those three words in a surprise intervention on Instagram.

The 37-year-old Portuguese star left a comment on a fan account that shared the quote, writing: "I didn't say that."It backed up the claims he instead said "come on, finish" to the camera operator, having had the camera fixed on him throughout the lap of honour.United interim boss Ralf Rangnick suggested after the match that Ronaldo would be staying put until at least the end of his contract in 2023. "I don't think why it should be a wave of goodbye," Rangnick told Stadium Astro. "He's got another year of contract and as far as I know he will be here next season again."Despite an impressive return of 24 goals in 38 appearances since his summer move from Juventus - including one against Brentford on Monday night - Ronaldo has faced criticism following his return to Old Trafford.
