Erling Haaland has reportedly put pen to paper on a deal with Manchester City that will make earn him a hefty pay rise. The Borussia Dortmund star has been one of the most exciting young stars in world football over the past few seasons and is viewed as the final piece of the puzzle at the Etihad Stadium outfit.
It is no secret that Pep Guardiola has been eager for City to sign a striker, as shown by their failed pursuit of Harry Kane last summer, and has been rewarded for his patience with one of the best in the business. The Times report that Haaland's overall wage will be worth a staggering £500,000, which will make him the highest-paid player in the Premier League.
His immense weekly wage is also cited as a reason why Bayern Munich and Barcelona ended their interest. Manchester United ’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Haaland’s soon-to-be teammate Kevin De Bruyne will now have to share the second spot for highest-earning player in the English top-flight, says Radio Times.
They report that the duo are paid £385,000 per week, a figure that is blown out of the water by Haaland’s. Red Devils shot-stopper David De Dea is next on the list, earning £10,000 less a month, whilst being closely followed by his teammate Jadon Sancho who earns £350,000 per-week.
