Sir Elton Hercules John CH CBE (born Reginald Kenneth Dwight; 25 March 1947) is an English singer, songwriter, pianist, and composer. He has worked with lyricist Bernie Taupin since 1967; they have collaborated on more than 30 albums. John has sold more than 300 million records, making him one of the world's best-selling music artists. He has more than fifty Top 40 hits, as well as seven consecutive number-one albums in the United States, 58 Billboard Top 40 singles, 27 Top 10 singles, four of which peaked at number two and nine of which reached number one. His tribute single "Candle in the Wind 1997", rewritten in dedication to Diana, Princess of Wales, sold over 33 million copies worldwide and is the best-selling single in the history of the UK and US singles charts. He has also produced records and occasionally acted in films. John owned Watford F.C. from 1976 to 1987 and from 1997 to 2002, and is an honorary life president of the club.

Elton John has tested positive for Covid-19 and has had no choice but to cancel two concerts as a result.The iconic singer, 74, was forced to step back from two events in Dallas, Texas, for his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour after he'd received a positive test - it was revealed on Tuesday.A statement on behalf of the legendary hitmaker read: "It is with great regret that the Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour dates in Dallas set for Tuesday, January 25 and Wednesday, January 26 must be postponed due to Elton recently testing positive for COVID-19."Fortunately, Elton is fully vaccinated and boosted, and is experiencing only mild symptoms.

Fans should hold on to their tickets as they will be honoured at the rescheduled dates to be announced soon."The announcement finished: "Elton and the Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour look forward to returning to the stage shortly."Last year, the I'm Still Standing chart topper resumed his long awaited tour after a two-year break - due to the Covid-19 pandemic.Just five days ago, Elton kick started the gigs once again and headed to New Orleans for the opening of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour.In September of 2018 Elton delighted fans across the globe as he announced he would be returning to the road once more - before marking his retirement.

Like many others in the music industry, Elton's momentous tour was placed on the back-burner until it was once again safe for folk to gather in large stadiums.
