Sir Elton Hercules John CH CBE (born Reginald Kenneth Dwight; 25 March 1947) is an English singer, songwriter, pianist, and composer. He has worked with lyricist Bernie Taupin since 1967; they have collaborated on more than 30 albums. John has sold more than 300 million records, making him one of the world's best-selling music artists. He has more than fifty Top 40 hits, as well as seven consecutive number-one albums in the United States, 58 Billboard Top 40 singles, 27 Top 10 singles, four of which peaked at number two and nine of which reached number one. His tribute single "Candle in the Wind 1997", rewritten in dedication to Diana, Princess of Wales, sold over 33 million copies worldwide and is the best-selling single in the history of the UK and US singles charts. He has also produced records and occasionally acted in films. John owned Watford F.C. from 1976 to 1987 and from 1997 to 2002, and is an honorary life president of the club.

Elton John forced to cancel two shows after testing positive for covid

Sir Elton John has tested positive for COVID-19 and as a result, has sadly been forced to cancel two of his concerts in Dallas, Texas.The 74 year old singer has been fully vaccinated and has also had the booster jab.Thankfully, the star, who is married to husband David Furnish and shared a rare insight into their Christmas with sons Zachary, 10, and Elijah, eight, a month ago, is only suffering from mild virus symptoms so far.The news was announced that the Your Song hitmaker unfortunately had to make the tough decision on Tuesday, January 25, with one of the shows scheduled to take place that night.

You can sign up at the top of the page A statement from the singer’s reps said: “It is with great regret that the Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour dates in Dallas set for Tuesday, January 25 and Wednesday, January 26 must be postponed due to Elton recently testing positive for COVID-19. “Fortunately, Elton is fully vaccinated and boosted, and is experiencing only mild symptoms." Concert-goers were also informed that anyone who had already purchased tickets would have the chance to reschedule their chosen date in the future.

The statement continued: “Fans should hold on to their tickets as they will be honoured at the rescheduled dates to be announced soon. “Elton and the Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour look forward to returning to the stage shortly,” the announcement added.

It comes after Sir Elton’s latest tour had already been postponed once before. The star was forced to put his shows on hold when the coronavirus first took hold back in March 2020.
