In a Twitter screed last Tuesday, Trump announced he was ordering Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin to suspend negotiations on a coronavirus package with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.
Of course, the president often claims credit for surges on Wall Street. He made his pronouncement when the market was open.The proclamations immediately prompted a selloff.
