Eamonn Holmes appeared to take a thinly-veiled dig at This Morning by saying he doesn't miss working on daytime telly. The much-loved presenter, 62, left the ITV show last year and has since said he was "given no reason" why he was axed.

He is now presenting a breakfast show on GB News and it seems the star isn't hankering after his old position at all. Asked if he missed daytime TV during an appearance on Steph's Packed Lunch, he replied: "No, no, not at all. "I really am excited with the whole breaking news environment and being involved in that."Eamonn went on: "They say if you do something you love you never work a day in your life and it's nice to be appreciated, it's nice to be with people who want you to be there, it's nice to feel that you are contributing." The presenter had hosted This Morning with his wife Ruth Langsford and said he would happily work with her again.

The star – who fronts his GB News programme with Isabel Webster – told host Steph McGovern: "We are open to it, we'd be open to it although Ruth is very busy with her range on QVC, she's got her other jobs on Loose Women, so we are very busy. "GB News, doing breakfast like that does consume your day and you are asleep when other people are awake so who knows, who knows? "But I think we would be open to suggestions, yes." Eamonn - who had been on This Morning for 15 years - confirmed in December that he was exiting the programme and heading to GB News.
