Thirsty drinkers flocked to pubs and bars in Scotland last night to make the most of boozing out before the 16-day alcohol ban come into force.
Massive queues were seen snaking around some bars in Edinburgh as revellers enjoyed a final boozy night out before last orders.
From today pubs and bars in five areas across Scotland must close for 16 days as part of emergency plans drawn up by the country's First Minister to stop the spread of coronavirus.
Under the emergency plans announced by Nicole Sturgeon on Wednesday pubs and bars in Greater Glasgow and Clyde, Lanarkshire, Ayrshire and Arran, Lothian, and Forth Valley can only provide takeaways.
