Augie, a 20-year-old Golden Retriever born in Oakland, Tennessee has been named as the oldest dog of its breed in living history.Golden Retriever’s are known to reach 17 or 18-years-old, but Augie, a dog born on April 24th, 2000, is the first to reach the big 20, or 120 in dog years.Owners Jennifer and Steve Hetterscheidt re-homed Augie after she was put up for adoption at the age of 14 through no fault of her own.The pair were active in their local golden retriever rescue organisation when they got her, and have taken her on trips all around the United States.Augie has got several canine and feline siblings, who all live with her in Tennessee, and she plays fetch with them in the pool tooJennifer and Steve said their care for Augie has.
