legend DMX is stopping traffic one last time Saturday as a funeral procession is underway from Yonkers to Brooklyn, where thousands are expected to turn out for the rapper’s memorial service.The procession began at around noon in Yonkers, where the rapper whose real name is Earl Simmons grew up, shutting down traffic en route to the private service at Barclays Center at 4 p.m.“Yonkers Ave at CPA, incl surrounding roadways and thruway ramps, will exp intermittent street closures, lane restrictions, and heavy congestion tom.
Avoid the area,” Yonkers police tweeted.The procession is a nod to the Ruff Ryders, a rap group with whom DMX rose to stardom, and was dubbed “Ruff Ryders 2 The Rescue: Ryde 4 Life.” Some 200 NYPD cops and traffic.
