Nazi graffiti has been painted on the Walkden loopline in Salford. Iain Lindley spotted the two swastikas spray-painted under separate bridges on the loopline, where it passes below the A580.
He said he was shocked to see the hateful symbols on his walk. The retired former councillor told the Local Democracy Reporting Service: “I was horrified to see such hateful imagery right here in Walkden, and I’m grateful to the Salford council team who have promised to remove this as an urgent priority.” Salford council said they had moved quickly to remove the graffiti.
Councillor David Lancaster thanked the residents who reported the symbol - which has been removed - and criticised those who had painted it.
