Death Row killer endured two-and-a-half hours of excruciating pain during a botched execution as staff tried desperately to find a suitable vein for the lethal injection.

Doyle Lee Hamm, 64, was convicted for the 1987 murder of hotel clerk Patrick Cunningham and was sentenced to death.
