Davina McCall felt 'invisible' as she suffered 'debilitating' perimenopause symptoms

Davina McCall has told how she felt "invisible" and "diminished" when she started suffering from symptoms of the perimenopause.

The former Big Brother host, 54, has been open about her experience with the menopause, previously confessing to the BBC that she feared she had Alzheimer's or a brain tumour because of her symptoms.

She is on a mission to bust the menopause taboo and has now posted a message on Instagram urging women to go to their doctor with "all guns blazing" and with a friend in tow to hold their hand.READ MORE: Davina McCall 'p***** off' as she claims she's growing beard after finding 'wiry hairs'"I don't know about you but I felt quite invisible and diminished and less than and ridiculous for even thinking about getting help with my symptoms," she said.Davina - who shares three children with her ex-husband Matthew Robertson - said it was seen as just a natural part of life but that her symptoms were "immensely debilitating".And she felt "terrified" when it came to doing something about it."You need to arm yourself with information," she told her fans. "You need to help your GP help you."The brunette suggested some useful advice and tracking apps and told ladies to take the relevant info to their doctor."Then, take a mate," she went on."Because when you do feel diminished and less than and ridiculous and anxious and tired and you've got brain fog, you don't want to fight your corner, so you need someone there who is going to help you do it...
